Home Control: Choose your service

Managing Notifications

 Notifications are the email, text or FiOS TV messages you receive when a mode or device has been activated . For example, you may receive a text message, email or FiOS TV on-screen message that the back-door is unlocked or that motion has been detected in the backyard by your outdoor camera. 

 

*SMS charges may apply. Use discretion when selecting events for which you wish to receive Notifications.  If you select too many events, this may result in a large volume of messages being sent daily to your email and/or SMS account.

 

Access your Notifications

There are three ways to access your Notifications: From the Home Monitoring Control Web site, mobile app or FiOS TV app.

 

From my...Action

Computer

From the Home Monitoring and Control Web site on My Verizon: Login to theHome Monitoring and Control Web site with your Verizon Online User Name and Password. From the top navigation, click Notifications.

 

Smartphone

From the Home Control mobile app:

From the main menu, tap:

FiOS TV 

 

 

From the Home Control FiOS TV application: 

From the FIOS TV main menu, select Home Control. From the carousel at the bottom of the screen, use your remote control's right or left arrows to locate the Notifications heading. If you receive an on-screen notification during normal TV viewing, press the FiOS TV button to view more information about the notification.

Receive Notifcations from Specific Devices

To update the notification settings for specific devices, select Device Settings from the Home Monitoring and Control Web site, select your device and select the Notification tab.

Computer

From the Home Monitoring and Control Web site on My Verizon: While you'll specify to receive notifications at specific email addresses or phone numbers, a log of all of your notifications are stored here for your review.

 

To view all of the notifications sent via email, smartphone or FiOS TV, click Messages and Activity.

 

Update your notification phone number or email address, click Settings. To send no notifications, remove your phone number or email address from the text boxes and click Save Settings.

 

To view a list of all device activity notifications, click Activity Log. 

Smartphone

From the Home Control mobile app:

To change the smartphone number receiving notifications, you'll update the information from the Home Monitoring and Control Web site.  

 

 

FiOS TV 

 

From the Home Control FiOS TV application:

To turn FiOS TV notifications on or off,  update the information from the Home Monitoring and Control Web site.
