Activate HD Voice - Android

Here's how to activate HD Voice on your Android smartphone.
  • HD Voice isn't recommended if you use a TTY / TDD device.
  • HD Voice on the smartphone must be turned on if you use a 4G Network Extender.
  • HD Voice provides clear and more natural sounding audio on voice calls when both parties are using HD-voice enabled phones over the Verizon 4G LTE network.
  • The voice portion of the call is billed per minute of use and the video portion is billed as data. For additional info, see these HD Voice FAQs.
  • Some devices may be auto-provisioned.
  • Requirements:
    • must be in the Verizon 4G or 5G coverage area.
    • must have HD Voice capable devices and be set up for HD Voice service.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    then do one of the following:
    Options presented depend on device model and software version.
    • Navigate:
      Network & Internet
      Mobile network
      Advanced
      .
    • Navigate:
      Network & Internet
      Advanced Calling
      .
    • Navigate:
      More
      Advanced Calling
      .
    • Navigate:
      Connections
      Advanced Calling
      then tap
      Allow
      from the 'Advanced Calling' prompt to complete activation.
  2. Tap
    Advanced Calling
    to turn on or off.
  3. To continue, review the disclaimer then tap
    Activate
    .
  4. Review the added and removed add-ons then tap
    Continue
    .
  5. From the "Congratulations! you now have Advanced Calling" section, tap
    OK
    .
    Restart the device in 5 minutes to complete activation.
