Startup and Troubleshooting - 4G LTE Network Extender
Here's how to view the device display to determine the status of your Samsung 4G LTE Network Extender.
- The initial startup of the Network Extender takes 30-60 minutes. After successful startup the Power / Status indicator LED indicator on the front of the unit is illuminated solid blue.
- If the Power / Status LED indicator is still blinking blue after one hour, relocate the GPS antenna to receive a stronger signal.
- Ability to sign into the Network Extender Admin is available after step 6.

In this state there has been an error preventing the software from being executed. The device remains in this state until it is power cycled unless the condition is a result of a failed software update. In the case of a failed software update, the unit reverts to the old software and reattempt to come into service. If a power cycle is unsuccessful, a factory data reset may be necessary. | Do not power cycle during software update / reversion. | ||

The device is attempting to acquire a local IPv4 Address. If it fails it continues to retry and remains in this state. | Verify DHCP is enabled on the router. The device has no physical Ethernet connection to the local switch/router/gateway. A system alarm (ETH_PORT_DOWN) is active (see Related Info section at the bottom of this page). | Verify Ethernet connectivity on the back of both the router and 4G NE. Ensure the Ethernet cable is connected to the LAN port. Verify firewall settings and ensure router ports are not disabled. The device conducts a DNS (Domain Name Server) lookup and establishes the VPN connection. If this process fails the device stays in this state and continues to attempt to secure an IPSec tunnel using the back off mechanism. | |||
