Turn HD Voice On / Off - 4G LTE Network Extender - Smartphone

If you're using a 4G LTE Network Extender and can't utilize HD Voice or Video Calling, view this info.
Devices with HD Voice disabled can't connect to the 4G LTE Network Extender for HD Voice and Video calling functions. You must enable HD Voice from your phone to allow it to connect to the 4G LTE Network Extender.
  • Ensure HD Voice is enabled under 4G LTE Network Extender coverage to enjoy HD Voice and Video Calling.
  • Ensure Wi-Fi Calling is disabled under 4G LTE Network Extender coverage.
  • HD Voice cannot be disabled on 4G Basic Phones.
  • The settings displayed vary slightly by the device.
  • These instructions enable HD Voice and Video calling functions.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps
    Settings
    Advanced Calling

    If unavailable, navigate:
    Settings
    Network & Internet
    Advanced Calling

    If unavailable, navigate:
    Settings
    Connections
    Advanced Calling
    .
    Network & Internet may be listed as Connections on some devices.
  2. Tap the
    Advanced Calling switch
     (upper-right) to turn on or off.
  3. When turned on, tap either of the following to enable or disable:
    Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • HD Voice
    • Video Calling
  • HD Voice is enabled by default when the physical SIM and embedded SIM (eSIM) are activated on your Dual SIM with eSIM capable iPhone.
  • The steps below don't apply to the following Apple iPhones:
    • iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s
    • iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, and iPhone 5
    • iPhone 12 and newer
    • Apple iPhones on iOS15.4 or newer
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Cellular
    .
    If an app isn't available on your Home screen, swipe left to access the App Library.
  2. Tap
    Cellular Data Options
    .
    If multiple SIM profiles are active, select the appropriate (primary/secondary) line then skip to step 3.
  3. Tap
    Voice & Data
    .
    If unavailable, tap
    Enable LTE
    .
  4. Tap the
    VoLTE switch
     to begin activation (this may take up to 2 minutes).
    If unavailable, tap
    Voice & Data
    .
    Avoid placing calls during this process ("LTE, VoLTE switch" shows in gray while on a call).
    If activation is not successful, the device restarts after 6 minutes and incompatible add-ons must be removed for HD Voice to be activated.
  1. Swipe the screen left to display the Apps list.
    Alternatively, tap
    All apps
     (located in the lower-right, may require scrolling).

    cellular+SIM
