Manage Adaptive Battery / Battery Optimization Settings - Android (Google)

Here's info on Adaptive battery and Battery Optimization, both of which help conserve battery power on your Pixel device.
Battery optimization helps conserve battery power on your device and is turned on by default.
  • When turned on, the Adaptive battery setting (Android 9.x and higher) extends battery life based on your phone usage.
  • Android devices with the Battery optimization setting (Android 8.x and lower) can enhance battery life by placing apps in Doze mode or App Standby.
  • The optimization setting is enabled by default. Disabling optimization may impact the device's battery life.
  • Optimization may cause certain apps, such as Voicemail, My Verizon, and Gmail, to stop functioning
