Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ - Perform a Gmail Sync

Adjust Gmail™ sync settings on your Galaxy S8 / S8+ to stay on top of your email in real time. If preferred, you can also manually update your inbox, calendar, contacts, etc.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Accounts and backup
    Accounts
    .
  3. Select the applicable Gmail address.
  4. Tap
    Sync account
    .
  5. Tap the applicable data synchronization options (e.g. Sync Contacts, Sync Gmail, Sync Calendar, etc.) to turn sync on or off.
    To perform a manual sync:
    • Tap the
      Menu icon
       Menu icon.
    • Tap
      Sync now
