Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ - Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up and manage fingerprint recognition to unlock your Galaxy S8 / S8+.
For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and moisture-free.
  2. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Biometrics and security
    Fingerprints
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Perform one of the following:
    • First Time Set Up
      1. If prompted, review the info then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. From the 'Scan your fingerprint' screen, follow on-screen instructions to register fingerprint.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
    • Add More Fingerprints
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
         Add fingerprint icon.
        Up to 4 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
      2. From the 'Scan your fingerprint' screen, follow on-screen instructions to register fingerprint.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
    • Remove Fingerprint(s)
      1. Select the fingerprint to remove.
      2. Tap
        Remove
         (upper-right).
      3. Tap
        Remove
         to confirm.
