Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ - Enable / Disable / Modify SIM PIN

Here's how to change the SIM PIN for your Galaxy S8 / S8+ or turn it on or off.
  • Enabling the SIM PIN locks the SIM card in your device so it can't be used until the correct code is entered.
  • If the incorrect PIN code is entered too many times, refer to My Verizon Website - Locate the SIM PIN / PUK to obtain a new PIN Unblocking Key (PUK).
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Biometrics and security
    Other security settings
    Set up SIM card lock
    .
    If unavailable, ensure a SIM card is properly inserted.
  3. Tap the
    Lock SIM card switch
     to turn on or off.
    To change your SIM PIN, ensure the switch is turned on then do the following:
    1. Tap
      Change SIM card PIN
      .
      The Lock SIM card switch must be enabled to change the SIM PIN.
    2. Enter the old SIM PIN (current SIM PIN) then tap
      OK
      .
      The default SIM PIN is 1111.
    3. Enter the new SIM PIN then tap
      OK
      .
    4. Re-enter the new SIM PIN then tap
      OK
      .
  4. Enter the current SIM PIN then tap
    OK
