Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ - Turn Android™ Device Protection On / Off
Here's how to turn Android Device Protection for your Galaxy S8 / S8+ on or off.
- If you have a Google™ (Gmail™) account on your smartphone / tablet, device protection is automatically turned on. If needed, you can add a Google account.
- To turn off device protection, remove all Google accounts from the device.
- Android Device Protection (Kill Switch) prevents unauthorized use of your device by requiring your Gmail address and password to be entered before the device can be set up if it's reset using the alternate reset method.
- When a trusted reset is performed, device protection isn't enabled.
