Activate your Galaxy Galaxy S8 / S8+ to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages, and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

If using a physical SIM card, make sure there's a SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the device begins to power on. Select your language then tap the
    Right arrow

  2. Review the Terms and Privacy screen, then tap
    Next
    .
  3. Confirm the correct phone number displays then tap
    Next
    .
  4. To set up your phone using an old phone, select an option then tap
    Next
    .
  5. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  6. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  7. Set up a screen lock and face recognition or fingerprints to secure your device.
  8. Tap
    Next
     to add additional storage with Verizon Cloud.
  9. Sign in to your Samsung account to access Galaxy-specific features.
  10. Tap
    Done
     to complete setup.
