Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 - Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock

Here's how to set up, change or disable the screen lock option (e.g., password, pattern, etc.) for your Galaxy Tab S3.

Open the

Settings app

Navigate:

Lock screen

Screen lock type

If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.

Do one of the following:

Set up Pattern

Tap

Pattern

Draw an unlock pattern that connects at least 4 dots then tap

Continue

Draw the same pattern again then tap

Confirm

If presented, configure notification options as preferred then tap

Done

Set up PIN

Tap

Enter a numeric PIN that's 4 to 16 digits then tap

Continue

Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap

If presented, configure notification options as preferred then tap

Done

Set up Password

Tap

Password

Enter a password that's 4 to 16 characters and includes at least one letter then tap

Continue

Tap the

Show password icon

to show characters as they're being entered.

Re-enter the password then tap

If presented, configure notification options as preferred then tap

Done

Disable Screen Lock

Tap 'None' or 'Swipe'.

If presented, tap 'Keep data' or 'Remove data' to keep/remove any saved fingerprint data.
