Set Up Cellular ServiceSetting up cellular service for your Apple Watch® lets you make calls, send texts, and use data without your iPhone® nearby.
Before you begin
These steps apply to the Apple Watch Series 3 and newer models.
Make sure your watch is paired with your iPhone and connected to Bluetooth® .
Your iPhone must be connected to the Verizon network during setup.
Ensure the My Verizon app is installed then have an Account Owner or Manager sign in.
If the message 'Carrier does not currently support Apple Watch' appears, update your carrier settings on your iPhone.
Steps
- During the pairing and setup process, tapSet Up Cellularon your iPhone.
- Enter your username to sign in to the My Verizon app.
- Enter your password.An error displays if your price plan isn't eligible for Number Share; for more info on compatible plans, visit the Number Share FAQs.
- TapContinue.If you are upgrading or replacing your existing Apple Watch, follow the instructions (beginning with step 5) in the Replace Existing Device article.
- If prompted, tapSet up Wi-Fi calling.
- Enter your 911 address.
- From the Cellular Is Ready screen, tapContinueand ensure you keep the Watch and the iPhone close together until you receive the alert that syncing is complete.
- From the Device Added screen, tapOKto complete activation and open the Watch app.
