Google Messages - Text Message Notification Settings

Here's how to turn text message notifications on or off via the Messages by Google app.
Ensure your apps are up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  1. Open the
    Messages
     Messages icon app.
  2. Tap the profile picture (upper-right).
  3. Tap
    Messages settings
    .
  4. Tap
    Notifications
    .
  5. Tap the
    Allow notifications switch
     to turn on or off.
  6. From the Alerts section, tap one of the following:
    • Allow sound and vibration
    • Deliver quietly
  7. Tap the
    App icon badges switch
     to turn on or off.
    When turned on, displays a dot or the number of notifications on the upper right corner of the app icon.
