moto g7 power - Factory Data Reset (Powered Off)

Here's how to factory / hard reset your moto g7 power if the screen freezes or call, app, audio or sync issues occur and the device won't start up.
  • Perform a factory data reset only if necessary as it removes your Google™ account and all data including system data, app data and media.
  • For devices with Android™ Device Protection turned on, it's imperative Google sign-in credentials are known prior to completing a factory reset with the device powered off. If credentials are unknown, do one of the following:
  • If a pattern, PIN, etc. is or has ever been set up on the device, Google account sign-in is required during initial setup.
  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
    If the device is responsive and can be powered on, the preferred reset method should be performed.
  2. Press and hold the
    Volume Down button
     on the right edge of the device.
  3. While continuing to hold Volume Down, press and hold the
    Power button
     until the boot mode screen appears then release both buttons.
  4. From the Bootloader selection screen (image of an Android with Start), select
    RECOVERY MODE
    .
    Utilize the volume buttons to cycle through the available options and the power button to select.
  5. From the Android system recovery screen (image of an Android with an exclamation point), do the following to display the menu options:
    Ensure the steps below are performed in a timely manner. If power is held too long (longer than 5 seconds), the device resets.
    1. Press and hold the
      Power button
      .
    2. While continuing to hold the power button, press the
      Volume Up button
       then release both buttons.
  6. Select
    Wipe data/factory reset
    .
  7. Review the 'Wipe all user data' message then select
    Factory data reset
    .
    Allow several seconds for the factory data reset to complete.
  8. Select
    Reboot system now
    .
    Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete.
    If applicable, set up your device.
