Sonim XP8 - Format SD / Memory Card

Here's how to erase all data on the SD / memory card of your Sonim XP8.
Formatting permanently erases all data on the SD / memory card.
To perform the steps below, ensure your Sonim XP8® has an SD / memory card inserted.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Storage
    .
  3. Tap
    SD / Memory Card
    .
    The name of the SD / memory card varies by manufacturer.
  4. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu Icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap
    Storage Settings
    , then do one of the following:
    • Format as Portable Storage
      1. Tap
        Format
        .
        When formatted as portable storage, data stored on the card can be transferred to other devices.
      2. Tap
        Erase & format
        .
      3. Tap
        OK
        .
    • Format as Internal Storage
      1. Tap
        Settings
        .
      2. Tap
        Format as Internal
        .
        When formatted as internal storage, data stored on the card can't be transferred to other devices.
      3. Tap
        Erase & Format
        .
        Allow several seconds for the process to complete.
      4. Tap
        OK
        .
      5. From the 'Move data to new storage' screen, select one of the following then tap
        Next
        :
        This moves media, apps, etc. from internal storage to the SD / memory card.
        • Move now
          If selected, tap
          Move
          .
          Allow several seconds for the process to complete.
        • Move later
  6. Tap
    Done
    .
