Sonim XP8 - Insert / Remove SIM Card

Here's how to properly insert or remove a SIM card for your Sonim XP8.
  • Don't attempt to insert/remove the SIM card while your Sonim XP8® is powered on. Doing so may harm the SIM card and/or the device.
  • Don't modify or alter your SIM card.
  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. Remove the battery cover.
    Use the provided tool to remove the screw then carefully detach the cover.

  3. From the notch in the upper edge of the battery compartment, lift then remove the battery.

  4. Do one of the following:
    • Insert SIM card
      Slide the SIM card into the card holder and ensure that the gold contacts are facing down and the notch on the card is located in the lower-left.

    • Remove SIM card
      Remove the SIM card by pulling it out gently.

  5. Align the gold battery contacts with the contacts in the battery compartment then gently press the battery into place.

  6. Replace the battery cover.
    Use the provided tool to re-insert and tighten the screw firmly.
