Here's how to set up and manage fingerprint recognition to unlock your moto g7 play.
For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and moisture-free.
  2. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security
    Fingerprint
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Perform one of the following:
    • First Time Setup
      1. From the 'Unlock with your fingerprint' screen, review the info then tap
        Set Up
         (at the bottom).
      2. Follow the on-screen prompts, locate then tap the
        fingerprint sensor
         on the back of the device (below the camera) and repeat until the process is complete.
      3. Tap
        Done
         (at the bottom).
    • Add More Fingerprints
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
        Up to 5 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
      2. Follow the on-screen prompts, locate then tap the
        fingerprint sensor
         on the back of the device (below the camera) and repeat until the process is complete.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
    • Remove Fingerprint(s)
      1. Tap the
        Delete icon
         Trash icon located to the right of the fingerprint you want to remove.
      2. Tap
        Yes, remove
         to confirm.
