Sonim XP8 - Add / Remove Face Recognition

Here's how to set up and remove facial recognition on your Sonim XP8.
  1. Ensure a secure screen lock type has been set.
  2. Open the
    Settings app
     on your Sonim XP8® .
  3. Navigate:
    Security & location
    Smart Lock
    .
    Refer to Smart Lock for first-time setup.
  4. Enter the current unlock method (e.g., PIN, pattern, etc.).
  5. Tap
    Trusted face
    .
  6. Do any of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. Review the info, then tap
        SET UP
        .
      2. Review the info, then tap
        NEXT
        .
        If prompted with camera permission, tap
        ALLOW
        .
      3. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
      4. From the 'All set!' screen, tap
        DONE
        .
    • To improve face matching:
      1. From the 'Trusted face' menu, tap
        Improve face matching
        .
      2. Review the message then tap
        NEXT
        .
      3. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
      4. Repeat as often as desired (in different lighting conditions, with/without glasses, etc.).
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the 'Trusted face' menu, tap
        Remove trusted face
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        REMOVE
        .
