Connected Car Wi-Fi (Audi) - Turn Network Name (SSID) On / Off

Here's how to broadcast or not broadcast your Audi in-car Wi-Fi / mobile hotspot name to other devices.
  • Enrollment in Connected Service is required before using in-car Wi-Fi or accessing the Wi-Fi hotspot settings screen.
  • Every wireless access point (e.g., router, hotspot) has a network name or Service Set Identifier (SSID) assigned to it. Typically broadcast by default, it can be turned off for greater security.
  • When turned off, any device attempting to connect for the first time must know the SSID name and password to set up a manual connection to it.
For the easiest connection experience, it's recommended to leave broadcast on.
  1. From the vehicle's head unit, select
    Menu
    .
  2. Select
    Settings
    .
  3. Select
    Connection settings
    .
  4. Select
    Wi-Fi
    .
  5. Select
    Wi-Fi hotspot settings
    to turn on or off.
  6. Tap the
    Visible to others switch
    to turn on or off.
When on, the network name isn't broadcast.
