Activate your Galaxy Tab A (8.4 inch) to get started. This ensures you can send email and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

Ensure a SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power / Side button
     until the device begins to power on. Select a language then tap
    Start
    .
  2. Review Terms and Conditions screen, then tap
    Next
    .
  3. From the Tablet activation screen, tap
    Next
    .
  4. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  5. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content now or tap
    Don't copy
    .
  6. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  7. Set up a screen lock and face recognition to secure your device.
  8. To allow Verizon Services to collect Location and Apps info, tap
    Accept
    .
  9. Sign in to your Samsung account to access Galaxy specific-features.
  10. Tap
    Done
     to complete setup.
