Samsung Galaxy Tab A (8.4 inch) - Google Backup and Restore

Here's how to ensure your Gmail, contacts, apps, etc. are backed up on your Galaxy Tab A (8.4 inch).
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Accounts and backup
    Back up data
    .
  3. Tap
    Back up to Google Drive
     to turn on or off.
    If turned off, existing backups are deleted from Google's servers.
  4. To change the backup account, tap
    Account storage
     then tap the preferred Google™ (Gmail™) account or tap Add account.
  • Backups can't be restored from a higher Android™ version onto a device with a lower Android version.
  • When a Google account is added to your device, previous backups are restored. This can be done by adding an existing Google account to your already active device or by signing in to the same Google account while setting up your new or reset device.
