Manage Hotspot Settings

Turn on the hotspot feature for your moto g stylus to share mobile data with other devices. Set up the network name, password and security type to enhance security.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    Advanced
    Mobile Hotspot & Tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
  4. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Hotspot name (SSID)
    • Hide my device
    • Security (e.g., None, WPA3-Personal, WPA2/WPA3-Personal, etc.)
    • Hotspot password
      1. Tap the Password field.
      2. Remove the existing password then enter the preferred password.
      3. Tap
        OK
        .
  5. Tap
    Advanced
     to view additional settings.
  6. Tap
    AP Band
     then select an option (e.g., 2.4 GHz Band, 5.0 GHz Band.).
  7. Tap
    Manage devices
     to restrict which devices are allowed to connect.
  8. Tap
    Manage allowed devices
    .
    1. Tap
      Add allowed device
      .
    2. Enter the MAC address and device name (optional) then tap
      OK
      .
    3. Tap
      Allow all devices
       to enable or disable.
    4. Swipe from the left edge of the screen to right to return to the previous page.
  9. Tap
    Device limit
     then select an option (e.g., 1-10).
  10. Tap
    Timeout settings
     then select a preferred option (e.g., Never turn off, 5 mins, etc).
