Here's how to add / remove Home screen items (widgets, apps or folders) and set the wallpaper on your Galaxy Z Fold3 5G.
To customize the Home screen on your Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, do any of the following:
Add Apps
A shortcut to an individual contact or bookmark can only be added to a Home screen via a widget.
- From the Apps screen, touch and hold an app.
- Drag the shortcut to the top of the screen then drop it in the preferred Home screen.For the app to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected Home screen. If needed, additional Home screen panels may be added.
Add Widgets
Widgets are mini-apps (e.g., weather, clock, calendar, etc.) that can be added to a Home screen. They aren't the same as shortcuts as they generally display info and take up more space than a single icon.
- From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
- TapWidgets(at the bottom).
- Tap the widget then tapAdd.The widget is added to the screen automatically.
- Drag the widget to the preferred Home screen then release.For the widget to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space on the screen. If needed, additional Home screen panels may be added.
- If applicable, tap additional options to activate the widget.Options vary depending upon the type of widget.
Add / Remove Folders
- From a Home screen, touch and hold an app (e.g., Email, My Verizon, etc.).
- Drag the app on to another app (e.g., Gmail™ Call Filter, etc.) then release it.A folder containing the shortcuts is created (titled Unnamed Folder). To rename the folder:
- Tap the folder.
- Tap theTitle bar(top of the open folder).
- Enter a name then tapDone.
To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.
Remove Apps / Widgets
Removing an app from a Home screen uninstalls it from your device.
- From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widget, apps, etc.).
- TapRemove.Some pre-installed apps (e.g., Gmail, Gallery, etc.) can't be deleted from a Home screen.
Set Wallpaper
- From a Home screen, touch and hold a blank area.
- TapWallpaper and style(lower-left).
- From the 'Wallpaper and style' screen, tapChange wallpapersthen perform one of the following:
- To use an existing wallpaper image:
- Tap any of the following:
- Featured
- Graphical
- Colors
- Select a wallpaper image from the list.
- Select an option (Home screen, Lock screen, Lock and Home screens).Selected when a checkmark is present.
- TapNext.
- TapDone.
- If prompted, select an option to change the color palette.
- To confirm, tapApply(at the bottom).
- To use an image from your gallery:
- TapGallery.If prompted, review the location information message then tapAllow.
- Locate then select the preferred picture.Up to 15 images can be selected and displayed in a rotating slideshow.
- Select an option (Home screen, Lock screen, Lock and Home screens).Selected when a checkmark is present.
- TapNext.
- TapDone.
- To use a Wallpaper service:This option only changes the lock screen wallpaper.
- TapWallpaper services.
- TapDynamic Lock screenorSamsung Global Goals.Enabled when a blue dot is present.
- TapApply.
- Select an image then tapDownload.To only download when connected to Wi-Fi, tap (check)Using Wi-Fi only.
