Samsung Devices - Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) - Switch SMS / MMS Number

Here's how to change which phone number your messages are sent from on your dual SIM capable Samsung device.
  • You can send SMS / MMS messages using either mobile number. To switch numbers before sending a message, follow these instructions.
  • In order to see the eSIM options, the device must be running the current software version.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access all apps.
  2. Tap
    Messages
    Messages app icon.
  3. From the Inbox, tap the
    New message icon
    New message icon (lower-right).
    If necessary, tap the
    Back icon
    Back navigation icon (upper-left) to navigate to the Inbox.
  4. From the 'To' field, enter a 10-digit mobile number or a contact name.
    As the number or contact is entered, a matching contact may appear and can be selected at any time.
  5. Tap the
    Change SIM button
    (above the message field) to choose the SIM from which messages will be sent in this conversation.
    The SIM button only appears when starting a new conversation. To switch SIMs later, a new conversation must be created.

  6. Enter the desired message then tap the
    Send icon
    Send icon when ready to send.
