Need to manage your desktop? Learn how to quickly open and close apps in Windows® 11 to keep your device running smoothly and clutter-free.

Steps

  1. Press the
    Windows key
     and the
    Tab key
     to open Task View.
  2. Do any of the following:
    • From the open apps screen, select an app to start using that app.
    • To close an app, select the
      X icon
       located in the upper-right corner just above the app.
