Here's how to set up and remove facial recognition on your Galaxy A53 5G UW.

Ensure a secure screen lock type has been set up.

Open the

Settings app

Navigate:

Security and privacy

Screen lock and biometrics

Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.

Tap

Face Recognition

Do any of the following:

For first-time setup:

From the Face recognition screen, review the info about Face recognition then tap

Continue

From the Face registration help screen, review the instructions then tap

While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the square displayed onscreen.

From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap any of the following switch(es) to turn on or off (e.g., Face unlock, Require open eyes, etc.).

To remove face data:

From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap

Remove face data

To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
