Lenovo ThinkPad X13s - Activate / Set Up Device
Here's how to quickly set up your ThinkPad X13s.
If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating your new Lenovo ThinkPad X13s.
If performing first time (out-of-the-box) setup, ensure the SIM card is inserted.
- If powered off, press thePower Button(upper-right on the keyboard) to turn on.
- Select a language then tap or clickYes(lower-right).
- Select a region then tap or clickYes(lower-right).
- Select the preferred keyboard layout then tap or clickYes(lower-right).
- From the 'Want to add a second keyboard layout' screen, clickSkip.
- Select the preferred network, tap or clickConnectthen tap or clickNext.If prompted, enter the network security key (Wi-Fi password) then tap or clickNext.If you choose 'I don't have internet', you can add Wi-Fi networks after the setup is complete.
- To continue, review the Windows® 11 License Agreement then tap or clickAccept.
- From the 'Let's name your device' screen, enter a name then tap or clickNext.
- From the 'How would you like to set up this device?' screen, tap or click one of the following, then tap or clickNext:
- Set up for personal use
- Set up for work or school
- To sign in with Microsoft®, enter an email address, phone or Skype™ account then tap or clickNext.If prompted, enter the password then tap or clickNext.
- When prompted to set your facial recognition to sign in, tap or clickSet up.If you choose 'Skip for now', you can set up facial recognition or fingerprint recognition after setup is complete.
- Tap or clickCreate PIN(lower-right).
- Enter a PIN, re-enter the PIN then tap or clickOK.
- Choose privacy settings for your device then read through settings, adjust as desired then tap or clickAccept.
- From the 'Let's customize your experience' screen, tap or click any of the following then tap or clickAccept:Tap or clickSkipto skip this step.

- From the 'Back up your files with OnDrive' screen, tap or clickOnly save files to this PCorNext.
- From the 'Set up your free Office..' screen, tap or clickDecline.
- From the 'GAME PASS' screen, tap or clickSkip for now.
- From the 'Protect you device' screen, enter the info then tap or clickNextto set up the device on your Lenovo ID profile.Tap or clickSkipto skip this step.
