Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your Pixel 7 / 7 Pro to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages, and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

If using a physical SIM card, make sure there's a 5G SIM is inserted before powering on.
If the eSIM profile fails to download, refer to Download and Activate an eSIM after device setup is completed.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the Google logo appears. Select your language then tap the
    Arrow icon
    .
  2. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  3. From the Phone activation screen, tap
    Continue
    .
  4. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content now.
  5. From the Set up using another device screen, select an option.
  6. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  7. Set up a screen lock then add fingerprint recognition or face recognition to secure your device.
  8. From the Google Services screen, select the desired options then tap
    Accept
    .
  9. Select the desired backup option then tap
    Turn on backup
    .
  10. Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Verizon services, Limited Warranty, and additional legal terms.
  11. Follow the prompts to set up 'Hey Google' voice activation, lock screen assistant access, nearby contact sharing and any final feature preferences.
  12. Tap
    Try it
     to complete the quick navigation gesture tutorial, then swipe up from the bottom of the 'Meet your new Pixel' screen to return to the Home screen.
