Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your 5G Home Router to get started. This ensures you can connect to the internet.

Before you begin

Inside the box: Setup guide, 5G Home Router, Power adapter and Ethernet cable.

Steps

  1. Remove the router from the box.
  2. Place the router on a stable surface near a window.
  3. Connect the router to the Internet Gateway by plugging the Ethernet cable into the WAN port.
  4. Connect the power adapter to the router and plug it into a power outlet.
    The router's blinking white light means it’s starting up. The light may fluctuate between red and white for up to 5 minutes; don’t unplug the router. Use the Verizon Home app for support.
  5. Check for a solid white light on the router.
    It can take up to 5 minutes to appear. Once the router shows a solid white, setup is complete.
  6. Connect your devices to your new Wi-Fi network.
    Use the Wi-Fi name and password printed on the bottom of the router to connect your devices. Or scan the QR code printed there to connect automatically. You can edit your Wi-Fi name and password in the Verizon Home app.
