Replace Existing DeviceFollow these steps to activate your Galaxy Watch8 / Watch8 Classic if you've recently replaced your watch or have reset the network settings.
Before you begin
The steps below only apply when a watch has been replaced. If you're pairing an existing watch with a new Android™ smartphone refer to Switched Paired Phone.
The Galaxy Watch8 / Watch8 Classic can be set up via Number Share. To set up with Number Share, the companion smartphone must be activated on the same Verizon account as the watch.
Before completing the steps, verify:
- your companion Android smartphone has a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
- you're in a Verizon coverage area.
- the Galaxy Wearable app is installed and updated.
- the replacement watch is charged and powered on.
Steps
- Open theGalaxy Wearable appon the companion Android smartphone.
- If possible, back up the data on your original Galaxy Watch8.
- Tap theAll Devices icon.
- Tap the3-dot Menuthen tapRemove devices.
- Select the applicable watch then tapRemove.Once removed, the watch must be reset before it can paired to another device.
- Tap theAdd icon.
- From the 'Pick your device' screen, tapGalaxy Watch8.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to complete activation; refer to one of the following, if needed.
- Kid SetupKid Setup is only available on the Galaxy Watch8.
