Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your Pixel 10a to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages, and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

To avoid activation issues, connect your Pixel to a strong Wi-Fi network and ensure the battery is at least 50% charged.
If using a physical SIM card, make sure a 5G SIM is inserted into the device before powering on then select the SIM as the default cellular data number after setup is complete.
If the eSIM profile fails to download, refer to Download and Activate an eSIM after device setup is completed.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the Google logo appears. Tap the
    Start arrow
     then select your language.
  2. To set up using another device, tap
    Pixel or Android device
     or
    iPhone or iPad
     to copy settings, accounts and more.
  3. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  4. Wait for the eSIM profile to download, then tap
    Next
    .
  5. From the Phone activation screen, tap
    Continue
    .
  6. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  7. Set up a screen lock then add fingerprint recognition or face recognition to secure your device.
  8. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content now.
  9. Review the Google Services info, then tap
    Accept
    .
  10. To backup device data, tap
    Turn on backup
    .
  11. Review and accept the Verizon Services terms and additional legal terms.
  12. Follow the onscreen prompts to set up additional Google features (e.g., Gemini, Google Assistant, Google Pay).
  13. Review the navigation gestures and tap

  14. To finish setup, swipe up to go to the Home screen.
