Link to SmartphoneFollow these steps to troubleshoot if your Gizmo Watch 4 isn't connecting to the caregiver's smartphone.
Before you begin
- It's necessary for the Gizmo Watch 4 to link to the caregiver's Android™ Smartphone or Apple® iPhone® for the device to function properly; however, the smartphone doesn't need to be connected to the Verizon network.
- Follow the steps below if the Gizmo Watch 4 doesn't link to the smartphone during the initial activation / setup.
Steps
- Ensure the primary caregiver has an Android Smartphone (Android 5.0 or later) or an Apple iPhone (iOS 10.0 or later) with a data plan and has data coverage.
- Ensure the primary caregiver has the Verizon Family app installed (Google Play Store™ or Apple® App Store® ).
- Ensure the caregiver used their mobile number to create an account.If the Gizmo phone number was used, refer to Change the Guardian Profile.
- Ensure the date and time settings on the smartphone are set automatically.
- Ensure the primary caregiver has the correct mobile number of the Gizmo Watch 4.The primary caregiver follows the instructions on the app to enter the needed info.
- If the Gizmo Watch 4 doesn't link to the primary caregiver, you're not communicating with the device. Try turning Wi-Fi off and linking it again. Here are other possible causes:
- The caregiver entered the wrong Gizmo device mobile number.
- Gizmo Watch 4 mobile number has an SMS (i.e., text messaging) block or short code messaging isn't working properly.
- The Gizmo Watch 4 isn't in a coverage area.
- The phone doesn't have data coverage.
- The phone has a Caller ID block.
