Add, Edit or Remove Guardian / Member / Child RolesManage who can monitor your child's activity. Easily add, edit, or remove Guardian, Member, and Child roles using the Verizon Family app.
Before you begin
Guardian devices can monitor activity and contacts and manage limits for child lines.
Only 4 devices can be set as Guardians. The account owner and the account managers are the primary Guardians by default.
To perform the steps below, you need to:
- Ensure the Family app is installed on the Guardian device.
- Sign in to the app using a My Verizon user ID or mobile number that has Account Owner or Manager access privileges.
- Ensure the child device is powered off prior to adding or removing blocks, restrictions, limits, etc.
Roles can't be edited. To change a user's role, delete the existing profile and create a new profile with the applicable role.
Add a Guardian / Member / Child Role
- Open the Verizon Family app.
- Tap theProfiles tabto view your current family.
- TapAddthen do one of the following:
- To add an adult from your Verizon account:
- TapAdd Adult.
- Select a device from your Verizon account.
- TapI affirm the member is 18 or olderthen tapContinue.
- Select a role from theDropdown menu(Member or Guardian).
- TapSend invite.
- To invite an adult to your family (Member only):
- TapAdd Adult.
- From the 'Invite an adult' section, tapPhoneto send an SMS invite.
- Enter the adult's phone number, tapI affirm the member is 18 or olderthen tapContinue.
- TapSend invite.
- To add a Child:
- TapAdd Child.
- Enter the child's name and date of birth, select the child's device on your Verizon account then tapContinue.
- To continue, review the Parental consent for Verizon Family then tapAgree.
- Enter the child's name and profile picture (optional) then tapContinue.
- TapCreate profileto finish adding the child your family.
Edit a Guardian / Member / Child Role
- Open the Verizon Family app.
- Tap theProfiles tabto view your current family.
- Select the family member then tapEdit.
- Edit any available fields.
- Display name
- Time zone
- Date of birthOnly available for child role.
Remove a Guardian / Member / Child Role
- Open the Verizon Family app.
- Tap theProfiles tabto view your current family.
- Select the family member then tapEdit.
- TapDelete profile.
- To confirm, tapRemove.
