Motorola Connect - Android™
Here's how to set up and use Motorola Connect.
Motorola Connect allows you to view text messages and calls coming into your Connect enabled phone on your computer's Chrome browser. You can read and respond to texts using your keyboard and even know who's calling before deciding if you should reach for your phone.
To utilize Motorola Connect, the following is required:
- A computer with an active Internet connection
- Chrome browser with the Motorla Connect extension installed
- Google account
Enable or Disable Motorola Connect
- From the handheld device, navigate.AppsSettingsActive Notifications
- From the "Computer" section, selectMotorola Connectto enable or disable.Enabled when a checkmark is present.If presented with the "Stay connected on your computer!" screen, ensure that the desired Google account is selected from the drop down menu (located at the bottom), selectYes, I'm in(located in the lower-right) then selectOK(located in the lower-right) to complete initial sign in.If this option is disabled then re-enabled, you mustsign in to Motorola Connect on the computer.
Sign In
Ensure that you are signed in to the Chrome browser with the same Google account you wish to use for Motorola Connect.
- From the computer, launch the Chrome browser.For Windows 8, right-click the.Start screenAll AppsGoogle ChromeFor Windows 7, Vista and XP, click.StartAll ProgramsGoogle ChromeGoogle ChromeFor Macintosh, click.FinderApplicationsGoogle Chrome
- From the Chrome browser, clickMotorola Connect(located in the upper-right).
- From the "Do you agree to use Motorola Connect?" screen, review the information then clickI agreeto continue.Sign in occurs automatically. Allow several seconds for the process to complete.
- From the "Success! You are signed in with" screen, clickLet's go(located in the lower-left).
Sign Out
- From the computer, launch the Chrome browser.For Windows 8, right-click the.Start screenAll AppsGoogle ChromeFor Windows 7, Vista and XP, click.StartAll ProgramsGoogle ChromeGoogle ChromeFor Macintosh, click.FinderApplicationsGoogle Chrome
- From the Chrome browser, clickMotorola Connect
(located in the upper-right).
- ClickMenu
(located in the upper-right).
- ClickSign out.
View Recent Calls

- From the Chrome browser, clickMotorola Connect

If necessary,sign in(skip to step 3). - Click theRECENT CALLStab (located at the top).
- From the left-pane, click a recent call to view.
View Text Messages

- From the Chrome browser, clickMotorola Connect

If necessary,Sign in(skip to step 3). - Click theMESSAGINGtab (located at the top).
- From the left-pane, click a message to view.
Compose and Send a Text Message
- From the computer, launch the Chrome browser.For Windows 8, right-click the.Start screenAll AppsGoogle ChromeFor Windows 7, Vista and XP, click.StartAll ProgramsGoogle ChromeGoogle ChromeFor Macintosh, click.FinderApplicationsGoogle Chrome
- From the Chrome browser, clickMotorola Connect
(located in the upper-right).
If necessary,sign in(skip to step 3). - Click theMESSAGINGtab (located at the top).
- ClickNew Message
(located in the upper-right).
- From the "To" field (located at the top), enter a 10-digit mobile number or a contact name.As the number or contact is entered, a matching contact may appear and can be selected at any time.
- From the "Type message" field (located at the bottom), enter a message.
- ClickSend
(located in the lower-right).
Reply to a Text Message

- From the Chrome browser, clickMotorola Connect

If necessary,sign in(skip to step 3). - Click theMESSAGINGtab (located at the top).
- From the left-pane, click a message.
- From the "Type message" field (located in the lower-right), enter a message.
- ClickSend
(located in the lower-right).
Motorola Connect Settings

- From the Chrome browser, clickMotorola Connect

- ClickSettings.
- Click any of the following settings to enable or disable:A setting is enabled when a checkmark is present.
- Sounds
- Play notification sounds
- Notification pop-ups
- Display pop-up notifications
- Incoming calls and missed calls
- Messages
- Hide text message content
- Voicemail
Install Chrome Browser and/or the Motorola Connect Extension on Your Computer
- From the handheld device, navigate.AppsSettingsActive NotificationsMotorola Connect
- From the "Stay connected on your computer!" screen, ensure that the desired Google account is selected from the drop down menu (located at the bottom) then selectYes, I'm in(located in the lower-right).If a Google account is not available from the drop down menu, sign in by navigating.AppsSettingsAdd accountGoogle
- From the "Great! Here's the last step" screen, selectOK(located in the lower-right).An email containing instructions regarding how to download and install the Chrome browser and the Motorola Connect Chrome extension is sent to the selected Google account.
- From the computer, log in to Gmail then follow the instructions contained within the email titled "Motorola Connect: Here's your last step".The email contains links for downloading the browser and extension.
