Roadside Assistance FAQs

Verizon Roadside Assistance provides your eligible vehicle with service for common emergency situations. Get battery jumps, towing service, help with a flat tire and more.*

Roadside Assistance service costs depend on whether or not you have a Roadside Assistance subscription. If you're a Verizon wireless customer you can pay per use. Or subscribe to Roadside Assistance** to get your services included.

A Roadside Assistance subscription costs $4.99/month for each enrolled line on your account.

With a Roadside Assistance subscription, the following assistance is included at no extra charge:

• Vehicle winching up to a $100 limit.
• Fuel delivery of up to 3 gallons of fuel.
• Jump start a dead battery.
• Change a flat tire with your inflated spare.
• Lock out assistance.
• Up to 10 miles towing free in a wireless coverage area. Any additional expenses incurred beyond the 10-mile limit are:
  • The responsibility of the customer.
  • Payable directly to the Signature Motor Club at the time of the call.
  • Not reimbursable.
• Subscribers receive up to 4 service claims in a wireless coverage area per year and 1 additional service claim in non-coverage area per year, available through Verizon's Roadside Assistance service using Apple's Roadside Assistance via satellite.
  • Important: Non-coverage area service requests are available only through Apple® Phone 14® or newer iPhone devices with iOS 17.2 or later.

Commercial rates can be arranged for service after the limit has been reached or for services not covered.

Important:

• The enrolled Verizon phone must be physically present at the time of service to be covered by the subscription.
• Limit of 4 service calls and/or reimbursement per enrolled line during a 1-year period. These are measured from the date your benefits are activated (2 calendar days after your initial enrollment) and each anniversary of that date.

Verizon wireless customers can use Roadside Assistance without a subscription. The pay per use rates with tax included are:

• Tow - $159 for first 5 miles ($7.50 for each mile additional)
• Tire change - $99
• Fuel delivery, lockout and/or jump start - $95

The mobile device that's enrolled in the Roadside Assistance subscription must be physically present to be covered by the subscription. If not, you pay:

• Tow - $159 for the first 5 miles ($7.50 for each mile additional)
• Tire change - $99
• Fuel delivery, lockout and/or jump start - $95

Note: The service follows the device, so you must have an enrolled device with you to receive Roadside Assistance. If you have more than one eligible device on your account, you may want to enroll each device.

You can cancel this feature any time through your Services & perks in My Verizon.

While you don't have to pre-register your vehicles to request help through the Roadside Assistance service request portal, we encourage you to add your vehicle's details prior to use. This will make it easier to request emergency roadside services in the future.

You can register up to 10 vehicles.

Note: Call #ROAD from your enrolled Verizon smartphone to have a link to the Roadside Assistance service request portal sent to your phone. Airtime, message and data rates may apply.

Another person can receive Roadside Assistance if the enrolled device is physically present where assistance is needed. The service follows the phone, not any one individual or vehicle.

Note: The enrolled member's name and mobile device number must also be confirmed.

Your subscription service coverage becomes effective 48 hours after your enrollment in the program.

If immediate service is needed within the first 48 hours, you may be charged the non-subscriber pay per use rates.

Roadside Assistance is specific to your mobile device number, so service will be provided for any eligible vehicle (including electric vehicles and motorcycles) you're driving or riding in, as long as the enrolled mobile device is physically present when services are given.

Roadside Assistance doesn't cover these vehicles:

• RVs
• Boats
• Trailers
• Vehicles with more than 2 axles
• Vehicles with more than 4 wheels
• Vehicles designed or modified for commercial or heavy-duty use (e.g., limousines, emergency vehicles)
• Vehicles exceeding 10,000 lbs gross vehicle weight

To receive service you'll only need to have the mobile device with you that's enrolled in Roadside Assistance.

Note: The enrolled member's name and mobile device number must also be confirmed.

When you need Roadside Assistance here's what to do:

When you're in a wireless coverage area

• Request Roadside Assistance online – Save time and immediately access the service request portal
• Call:
  • #ROAD (#7623) from your enrolled phone
  • 1-87-ROADSIDE from any phone

Roadside Assistance will prepare a request for service dispatch. You'll need to provide:

• Vehicle type (i.e., make, model and color)
• Your location (the nearest major street/crossroad, if known)

When you're in a non-coverage area

Those with iPhone 14, or newer iPhone devices with iOS 17.2 or later can access Verizon Roadside Assistance service using Apple's Roadside Assistance via satellite.

To request Roadside Assistance via satellite on iPhone:

1. In Messages, tap the New Message button to start a conversation.
2. In the address field, type "Roadside." When you're off the grid with no cellular and Wi-Fi coverage, you'll see the option to request Roadside Assistance via satellite.
3. Tap Roadside Assistance.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to a satellite and request help.

In a wireless coverage area, you have the option to get a text message when you call for assistance.* The text includes:

• The name of the company providing service to you
• The providing company's phone number
• Estimated time of arrival

You can opt-in or out at any time.** Text confirmation alerts are sent to your Verizon mobile device, unless you provide an alternate mobile number when you contact Roadside Assistance.

Note: You'll get one text message per dispatch.**

Note: In a non-coverage area, Apple's Roadside Assistance via satellite delivers all the information. There’s no need to opt in to get a message.

No. To get a text message alert when you request roadside service, you must verbally agree (opt-in) to receive a text message alert.

Service may be limited by local traffic rules and regulations, such as restricted roadways and toll roads. Roadside Assistance from Verizon may not be available in all areas due to such regulations and rules.

In such areas, only certain service vehicles that have been designated by local authorities are authorized to perform service. If you happen to require service in one of these areas, the Verizon Roadside Assistance Customer Service Representative will assist you with your options.

The Roadside Assistance program can't ensure safety. If there are safety concerns, you should call 911 first.

Yes. Before securing your own roadside services, contact Verizon Roadside Assistance for pre-approval. You may be reimbursed up to $80.

Roadside Assistance subscribers can request reimbursement for securing your own roadside services*. Send the following to the address below:

• The original receipt from the service provider
• Your name, address, authorization number and mobile number

Claims must be postmarked within 60 days of the date of service.
