Accessing shared folders on your home network Once you've completed the setup and verified that you have the Windows components loaded, it's easy to access the shared folders on the other networked computers.

When you open Network Neighborhood or My Network Places to access the shared folder, you'll notice it works just like Windows Explorer. The only difference is that it allows you to access files on networked computers and not just your hard drive.
