How do I set up port forwarding on my Verizon network hardware?
Port forwarding configures a device (modem, router, or gateway) to allow a computer, application, or a service on the Internet to communicate with a specific computer on a private local area network (LAN). Port forwarding sorts the data from the Internet source to the correct port on your network.

Port forwarding is most commonly used for applications such as online gaming, surveillance webcams, VPN setup, File Transfer Protocol, remote computer software, and Web server hosting.
