5G Ultra Wideband perk for the Unlimited Welcome plan FAQs

The 5G Ultra Wideband perk is an optional $10/month, per line add-on designed specifically for the Unlimited Welcome plan. It provides access to our fastest 5G speeds* without upgrading to a higher-tier plan like the Unlimited Plus plan or Unlimited Ultimate plan.

Your 5G smartphone line must be on the Unlimited Welcome plan to add the 5G Ultra Wideband perk.

Here’s how the $10/month 5G Ultra Wideband (UW) perk for the Unlimited Welcome plan compares to upgrading your plan to Unlimited Plus plan or Unlimited Ultimate plan:

• $10/month perk - This is an add-on for the Unlimited Welcome plan. It grants access to the high-speed 5G Ultra Wideband network. It’s a great budget-friendly choice if you only care about faster speeds on your phone.
• Unlimited Plus plan or Ultimate plan - Includes 5G Ultra Wideband by default. They offer dedicated mobile hotspot data and unthrottled premium data. They also feature international roaming capabilities.

If you have the Unlimited Welcome plan and want to add the 5G Ultra Wideband perk from My Verizon using the:

My Verizon app:

1. Tap the Shop tab.
2. Select Entertainment (or Services).
3. Find “5G Ultra Wideband” and tap Add.

My Verizon website:

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Navigate to Services & perks.
3. Select Add next to 5G Ultra Wideband.

Good to know: Only an Account Owner or Account Manager can add perks.

Once you add the 5G Ultra Wideband perk to your Unlimited Welcome plan, you don’t need to take any extra steps to "turn it on" for your data. Your phone automatically connects to the fastest available network in your area.

How to use your perk:

1. Confirm your device is ready to experience Ultra Wideband speeds:
   1. Check Compatibility - Use a 5G-capable device. Most modern smartphones
      (Apple® iPhone® 12 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S21 and newer) support this network.
   2. Update Software - Go to your phone Settings to ensure you are running the latest software version.
2. Locate the Network:
   1. Look at the status bar at the top of your phone screen. When you are in an active coverage area, you see the 5G Ultra Wideband (UW) icon.
   2. If you only see "5G," you are on our standard 5G Nationwide network. The "UW" indicates you are currently using the high-performance Ultra Wideband spectrum.

Your perk also unlocks higher-quality 720p video streaming.

1. Open the My Verizon app.
2. Navigate to Account > Plans.
3. Select your line and ensure Maximum Data Throughput or HD Video is turned to ON.

Verizon adds a recurring $10 monthly charge to your bill.

Here’s what happens if you cancel or suspend your Verizon service:

If you cancel your Verizon service:

• We end your perk on the day you cancel your service.
• We don’t refund your $10 monthly charge.

If you suspend your line:

• During your bill cycle - We keep you enrolled in the perk and refund you for the days you suspend your line.
• At the end of your bill cycle - We don’t renew your perk. You lose access to it and we don’t charge you.
