Express Pass FAQs

Express Pass gives you high-speed data on demand to help you skip heavy network traffic in busy places like stadiums and airports. Express Pass also overwrites the existing service caps of your current price plan, such as hotspot allocations, video resolution and data throughput thresholds. If you have a lower tier price plan, Express Pass gives you a premium data connection boost on Verizon's 5G networks.

How it works:

• You tap once in the My Verizon app to activate your pass.
• We give you 24 hours or 6 GB of priority data (whichever comes first).
• You're billed a flat fee of $5 (plus taxes & fees where applicable).*

*Available on Verizon's 5G networks in the United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) with a compatible smartphone, supported OS version and with the 5G Standalone setting turned on is recommended. Not available while roaming, on Wi-Fi or satellite, for voice calls or text messaging, or on lines with usage control services. You're eligible for Express Pass if you have:

• A Verizon 5G smartphone
• A personal line(s) or an eligible business line(s)
• One of these plans:
  • Simplicity
  • Unlimited Ultimate, Unlimited Plus, and Unlimited Welcome

Express Pass works on any Verizon 5G smartphone and covers data shared through your phone's Mobile Hotspot.

Good to know: Express Pass doesn’t work on tablets, smartwatches, Mobile Hotspot devices or Jetpacks yet. Stay tuned for future updates.

Only the Account Owner can buy an Express Pass for any line on the account.

You can only have one active pass per line at a time. You can buy another pass as soon as your current pass expires or runs out of data.

You can track your remaining data and time in the My Verizon app in the Usage tab. Look under the dedicated Express Pass section. We also send you a text alert when you reach 90% of your pass capacity.

You see a one-time charge of $5 (plus taxes & fees where applicable) on your monthly bill. It appears under the mobile number that used the pass. We never prorate this charge.

No, we don't allow refunds or cancellations after purchase. We send priority data to your line right away.

If you transfer your mobile line, we remove the active pass from your line. It doesn't transfer over.

A 6 GB pass of high-speed data goes a long way. A 6 GB pass gives you:

• About 60 hours of gaming
• Up to 100 hours of squad chat
• Up to 10 hours of video meetings

This is what happens if you connect to Wi-Fi after your pass starts:

• Your phone automatically routes data through your Wi-Fi connection, so your data won’t be prioritized. To use Express Pass, you need to connect to Verizon’s 5G networks.
• Your 24-hour clock continues to run in the background.
• We don't pause the Express Pass.

You can use Express Pass anywhere in the U.S. (except Alaska and Hawaii) when connected to Verizon’s 5G networks.

No, Express Pass only works in the U.S. (excludes Alaska and Hawaii) when connected to Verizon's 5G networks. It doesn't work when you're roaming on international partner networks, on Wi-Fi, satellite or mobile hotpot/tethering.

Express Pass works by prioritizing your data connection. It still relies on a cellular signal. If you're in a complete dead zone with zero signal, the pass doesn't work.
