Set Data Limits

Keep track of your family's cellular data usage. Use the Verizon Family app to set data limits on your child's device and receive automatic alerts before they reach their cap

Before you begin

Ensure the Verizon Family app is installed on the Guardian's device.
Sign in to the app using a My Verizon user ID or mobile number that has Account Owner or Manager access privileges.
Ensure the child's device is powered off prior to adding or removing limits.

Steps

  2. Tap the
    Family Profiles tab

  3. Choose the profile of the family member you wish to view.
  4. From the Parental Controls section, tap
    Restrict usage
    .
  5. Tap
    Data limits
    .
    For lines on the justkids plan, tap
    Limit data amount
    .
  6. Enter the data limit in GB (Gigabytes).
    Once the limit is reached, data usage is restricted until the next billing cycle.
    You and your child receive free text alerts when they've used 50%, 75% and 90% of the limit.
  7. If desired, select
    Don't block data but still alert me when the limit is reached
     to turn on or off.
    For lines on the justkids plan, if desired, select
    Don't block data, but enable Safety Mode
     to turn on or off.
  8. Tap
    Save
