My Verizon app - Activate New Line Using Previously Owned Device

Here's how to activate a new line with a device previously used on the account via the My Verizon app.
Ensure your app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  1. Open the My Verizon app then tap the
    Account tab
    .
    If prompted, enter your password, fingerprint or Face ID.
    Only Account Owners or Account Managers can perform these steps.
    If you're not able to access the My Verizon app, you can also visit the My Verizon website to manage your account.
  2. Scroll down then tap
    Add a line
    .
  3. Tap
    Bring your own device
    then tap
    Next
    .
    To add a line with a new device, refer to Add a New Line of Service.
  4. Select
    Bring another device
    .
  5. Select the appropriate device option (e.g., Smartphone, Tablet, etc.) then tap
    Continue
    .
  6. Enter the brand, model and previous carrier of the device then tap
    Continue
    .
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Get a New Number
      1. Select
        Get a new number
        .
      2. Choose the first 6 digits of your number by tapping the
        New phone number dropdown menu
        then tap
        Next
        .
        If the ZIP code entered doesn't have any numbers available, tap
        Edit
        then enter a different ZIP code.
    • Use Your Number From Another Carrier
      1. Select
        Bring a number
        then tap
        Next
        .
      2. Enter the required info (e.g., Existing phone number, Account holder's address, etc.), accept the Terms & Conditions then tap
        Next
        .
  8. Tap
    Add
    to select an equipment protection plan or tap
    No thanks
    to decline equipment protection.
  9. Review the message then tap
    Continue
    .
  10. Review the Verizon Wireless Customer Agreement then tap
    Agree and continue
    .
  11. Review the order details then tap
    Place order
    .
