My Verizon app - Activate New Line Using Previously Owned Device
Here's how to activate a new line with a device previously used on the account via the My Verizon app.
Ensure your app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
- Open the My Verizon app then tap theAccount tab.If prompted, enter your password, fingerprint or Face ID.Only Account Owners or Account Managers can perform these steps.If you're not able to access the My Verizon app, you can also visit the My Verizon website to manage your account.
- Scroll down then tapAdd a line.
- TapBring your own devicethen tapNext.To add a line with a new device, refer to Add a New Line of Service.
- SelectBring another device.
- Select the appropriate device option (e.g., Smartphone, Tablet, etc.) then tapContinue.
- Enter the brand, model and previous carrier of the device then tapContinue.
- Do one of the following:
- Get a New Number
- SelectGet a new number.
- Choose the first 6 digits of your number by tapping theNew phone number dropdown menuthen tapNext.If the ZIP code entered doesn't have any numbers available, tapEditthen enter a different ZIP code.
- Use Your Number From Another Carrier
- SelectBring a numberthen tapNext.
- Enter the required info (e.g., Existing phone number, Account holder's address, etc.), accept the Terms & Conditions then tapNext.
- TapAddto select an equipment protection plan or tapNo thanksto decline equipment protection.
- Review the message then tapContinue.
- Review the Verizon Wireless Customer Agreement then tapAgree and continue.
- Review the order details then tapPlace order.
