Here's how to extend battery life, view charging status / remaining battery and determine what uses the most power on your Galaxy S8 / S8+.

View Battery Life

Open the

Settings app

Navigate:

Device care

Battery

Battery usage

From the "Past and predicted usage" section, review the estimated usage time remaining.

From the "Recent battery usage" section, review the usage (e.g., Screen, Android System, etc.).

Percentage indicates how much battery usage occurred for each category.

Battery life is measured by standby time, talk time and data usage.

To improve battery life, you can:

Disable or uninstall apps (e.g., live wallpapers, etc.) that are consuming too much battery or RAM or aren't being used.

Contact the app developer if an app appears to cause excessive battery drain.

Adjust brightness to the lowest setting.

Turn off GPS when not in use.

If turned off, certain apps or services may not work properly.

Ensure battery optimizations aren't ignored; make sure accounts (e.g., email, Facebook®, etc.) are selected and optimized as desired.

Remove widgets that automatically update.
