Enable Restrictions After a 911 CallLearn how to quickly turn your parental controls back on if they were automatically paused after an emergency call.
When 911 is Called
- All existing usage restrictions on the line are disabled for personal safety.
- The Guardian is notified by SMS message and a banner of the Guardian app that usage restrictions have been disabled by a 911 call.
- The restrictions will automatically be re-enabled 4 hours after the line last dialed 911.
- The Guardian has the option to manually re-enable the restrictions sooner than 4 hours. See Re-enable Restrictions section below.
Re-enable Restrictions
Ensure the child's device is powered off prior to adding or removing blocks, restrictions, limits, etc.
- Open the Verizon Family app.The Home screen displays a banner notification that restrictions have been disabled by a 911 call.
- To re-enable restrictions immediately, tapEnable restrictions.If the restrictions are not manually re-enabled, they will be re-enabled automatically after 4 hours has elapsed from the time the line last dialed a 911 call.
