LG G8 ThinQ - Manage RTT Settings

Here's how to use the real-time text (RTT) feature on your G8 ThinQ.
Real-time text (RTT) is text transmitted instantly as it is typed or created. Recipients can immediately read the message while it is being written, without waiting or the need for an additional device.

  1. From a Home screen, tap the
    Phone icon
     Phone app icon (lower-left).
  2. Navigate:
    Menu icon Menu icon
    Call settings
    Additional settings
    .
  3. Tap
    Real Time Text (RTT) keyboard
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    When RTT is enabled on both devices no audio is heard on the call. If you aren't hearing audio make sure RTT is turned off.
    You won't be able to make video calls or merge calls while RTT is on.
  4. Tap the
    Back arrow icon
     Back arrow icon (upper-left) twice to return to the calling screen.
  1. From a Home screen, tap the
    Phone icon
     Phone app icon.
    When enabled, the RTT phone icon appears in the 'Dial' screen.

  2. If prompted, tap
    Yes, show RTT keyboard
    .
  3. Once call connects and the RTT keyboard displays, start typing your message.

  1. If RTT is turned off, while on a call, tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right) then tap
    Show RTT Keyboard
    .

  1. While on a call, tap the
    End icon
     (upper-right) to end the call.
