Connected Car Wi-Fi (Volkswagen)
Manage Hotspot SettingsTurn on the hotspot feature for your Volkswagen in-car Wi-Fi to share mobile data with other devices. Set up the network name, password and security type to enhance security.
Before you begin
For vehicles, generally higher trim levels equipped with MIB3 Infotainment system or ID.4 vehicles, Wi-Fi settings are only accessible through the Infotainment screen.
- To access Wi-Fi settings, navigate: .
- From Wi-Fi settings, SSID and Passphrase can be updated and Hotspot turned on/off.
For other vehicles, generally lower trim levels, the Wi-Fi Hotspot password (also called passphrase) and network name (SSID) can only be found within the myVW app.
Ensure your vehicle is connected to a Wi-Fi capable device (e.g., phone, tablet, PC).
Steps
- Open the myVW app.
- Tap theAccount iconin the bottom-right.
- TapVehicle Management.
- Tap the desired vehicle.
- TapWi-Fi Settings.
- Select any of the following to view or change settings:
- Hotspot On / Off
- SSID & Passphrase
