TCL TAB 8" - Manage Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure the hotspot settings (e.g., password, network name, timeout settings, etc.) on your TCL TAB 8.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Tap
    Set up Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. From the Setup Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Network name (SSID)
    • Security (e.g., None, WPA2-Personal, etc.)
    • Password
      1. Tap
        Hotspot password
        .
      2. Enter the preferred password.
    • Select AP Band (e.g., 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz)
    • Maximum connections (e.g., 1 user, 8 users, etc.)
  5. Tap
    SAVE
    .
  6. Tap
    Timeout settings
     then select an option (e.g., Never, 5 minutes, etc.).
  7. From the 'Connected devices' section, tap
    Block
     next to the device you want to disconnect.
    Up to 10 devices can connect to the Mobile Hotspot at one time.
    To remove the block, tap
    Unblock
     next to the preferred device under the 'Blocked devices' section.
