Activate your Galaxy S21 5G / S21+ 5G / S21 Ultra 5G to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

If using a physical SIM card, make sure there's a 5G SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.
If the eSIM profile fails to download, refer to Download and Activate an eSIM after device setup is completed.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the device beings to power on. Select your language then tap
    Start
    .
  2. Review the Terms and Conditions screen, then tap
    Agree
    .
  3. Confirm the correct phone number displays then tap
    Next
    .
  4. To set up your phone using an old phone, select
    Galaxy or Android device
     or
    iPhone or iPad
    . Otherwise, tap
    Set up manually
    .
  5. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  6. Complete the activation steps as prompted then tap
    Next

  7. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
    to transfer your content or tap
    Don't copy
    .
  8. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  9. Set up a screen lock and face recognition or fingerprints to secure your device.
  10. Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept Google Services (e.g., Gemini, Location, etc.).
  11. To allow Verizon Services to collect Location and App info, tap
    Accept
    .
  12. Tap
    Agree
     or
    Accept
     to add additional storage with Verizon Cloud or secure your device with Verizon Protect.
  13. Sign in to your Samsung account to access Samsung specific-features.
  14. Tap
    Home
     to complete setup.
