Samsung Galaxy A12 - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly set up your Galaxy A12.
If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating the new device.
For info on prepaid service activation, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
  1. If powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     until the Samsung Galaxy A12 screen appears then release.
  2. Select the appropriate language then tap

  3. To continue, review the 'Terms and Conditions' screen then tap

    Review the info before continuing.

      Must be selected to continue.

  4. From the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap
    Next
    .
    If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
    If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

  5. From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.

     to add Wi-Fi networks after setup is complete.

  6. From the 'Copy apps & data' screen, tap 'Next' to continue or tap 'Don't copy' to skip the step.
    If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.

  7. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one.

     to add your Google account after setup is complete.

  8. From the 'Google services' screen, select any of the following to turn on Switch on or off Switch off then tap

    If necessary, tap

     to review additional services.

  9. From the 'Protect your phone' screen, tap an option.

     to enable a screen lock or set up face or fingerprint recognition after setup is complete.

  10. From the 'Verizon Services' screen, turn the following on or off then tap

    • Apps info

  11. From the 'Verizon Cloud' screen, tap
    Agree
    .

     to set up Verizon Cloud after setup is complete.
