Samsung Galaxy Watch4 / Galaxy Watch4 Classic - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly set up your Galaxy Watch4 / Galaxy Watch4 Classic.
If the Galaxy Watch was purchased outside of Verizon, contact us to start a line of service for your device.
  • The Galaxy Watch4 / Galaxy Watch4 Classic can be set up via Number Share. To set up with Number Share, the companion smartphone must be activated on the same Verizon account as the watch.
  • If you're replacing an existing Samsung smartwatch, refer to Replace Existing Device.
  • If you're pairing an existing Samsung smartwatch with a new Android smartphone, refer to Connect to New Phone.
  • Before completing the steps below, verify:
    • your companion Android™ smartphone has a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
    • your eSim activation has been processed.
  1. Ensure the Galaxy Watch4 / Galaxy Watch4 Classic is charged and powered on.
    If necessary, tap the watch display to begin.
  2. Install the Galaxy Wearable app on the companion Android smartphone via the Google Play™ Store.
  3. Open the

  5. Tap 'Galaxy Watch4' or 'Galaxy Watch5 Classic'.
    If prompted, tap
    Allow
     to approve the necessary permissions.
  6. Ensure the passkey matches what's displayed on the Galaxy Watch4 / Galaxy Watch4 Classic then tap
    Confirm

    If prompted, tap
    PAIR & CONNECT
     to connect your watch to your companion smartphone.
  7. To continue, review the 'Samsung End User License Agreement' and 'Samsung Privacy Notice' then tap

  8. If using a non-Samsung Android smartphone to complete the setup, tap
    Allow
     to grant the Galaxy Watch4 Manager access to your watch.
  9. Review the Google Terms of Service then tap

  10. From the 'Get updates automatically screen', tap the preferred option:
    • Get updates manually

  11. To add your Google Account, confirm the correct account is displayed then tap

  12. From the 'Automatic watch backup' screen, review the info then tap

  13. If prompted, from the 'Samsung Smart Switch' screen, tap Close app or Continue.
    The Samsung Smart Switch app must be installed to back up data.
  14. From the 'Set your wearing preferences' screen, tap the available preferences then select an option. Once your preferences are selected, tap

  16. If an eSIM has been activated on your account, tap
