Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your motorola edge+ 5G UW to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages, and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

If using a physical SIM card, make sure a 5G SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.

If the eSIM profile fails to download, refer to Download and Activate an eSIM after device setup is completed.

Press and hold the

Power button

until the device begins to power on. Select your language then tap

Start

Confirm the correct phone number displays then tap

Connect to a Wi-Fi network.

Turn privacy and security features on or off then tap

Accept & continue

To copy apps and data, tap

to transfer your content or tap

Don't copy

Select who will be using the device (e.g.,

I will be using this device

Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Google Services option (e.g., Gemini, Location, etc.).

Set up a screen lock and fingerprints to secure your device.

Review and set up additional Google features (e.g., Google Assistant, etc.).

To allow Verizon Services to collect Location and App info, tap

Tap

to add additional storage with Verizon Cloud or secure your device with Digital Secure.

Add your email to allow Motorola to communicate with you.

Complete any remaining steps to set up apps and other device features.
